A few weeks ago, I went to a commercial audition and the casting director asked me:

"Do you like working with kids?"

In my mind flashed a memory of shooting a pilot for a children show and 16 squirmy children and their aggressive stage parents.

(A long pause)

Me:  "...Yes."

I needed to be a little bit quicker on my toes.

I signed up for a class at UCB with Ryan Karels and it was totally kick ass.  When I stepped into the classroom, the majority of the students were women and for the most part, people respected each other.

Our graduation show was today and it was totally fun!  It's not easy to do improv on a Saturday morning at 12:00 in the afternoon but the crowd was supportive.  Our two teams, Shuttle Cock and Weekend Shoes tore up the stage and Shuttle Cock's West Side Story-like dance-off at the end was OFF THE HOOK.

After the show as we sat in an Irish pub, I recapped the lessons in my mind that Karels pounded into our heads and realized they are also lessons for participating in life.  If you didn't do these things in your life, you probably won't have good relationships with people.

1.  Listen!
2.  Work with Truth.
3.  Commit.
4.  If this is funny, than what else can be funny?
5.  Support the shit out of your partners.

I may have these pillars of wisdom tattooed on my wrist.
