SHORT BIO
I've been lucky and blessed to perform with the following New York City theatre companies:
Ensemble Studio Theatre, The New Dramatists, and Ma-Yi.
I also performed in Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven, written and directed by Obie Award-winning director, Young Jean Lee. My other credits also include HBO's Bored to Death, independent film West 32nd Street, and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I also recently shot the independent feature film, Spencer, by Geoff Lerer.
Last summer I completed a successful run of my solo show, YO GIRL! Off-Broadway at 59e59 Street Theater as well as The International Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2010.
Hello!
LONGER BIO
I'm Natalie Kim and I am a New York City actress and writer. I am also a vlogger (video blogger) and I am crazy for comix and comix creators. On Tuesdays I draw cartoons.
My most recent project is a web series called SuperTwins! which is a comedy about superhero fraternal twins, Karin and Kai who are trying to recapture their former glory. It was written by myself and my writing parnter, Josiah Madigan (two-time Emmy winner for Cash Cab) and created with Trevor Zhou and Robbie Sublett.
The Beginning
My first role on stage was playing Tessie in the musical Annie. I was in sixth grade and it was one of the most joyful experiences in my life. From shrieking "OH MY GOODNESS!" in the shrilliest voice possible to dancing and singing: "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile", I knew I was going to be an actress.
We were lucky to work with an original orphan from Broadway who taught us to dance and sing as if we were the real deal and not just a high school performance in Millersville, Maryland. That role lead to other roles in plays such as South Pacific (can you say Dite Moi?) and Little Shop of Horrors where I played the lead, Audrey.
New York City Bound
As soon as I could, I made my way to New York City and attended Queens College, (whose famous alum include Jerry Seinfeld and Fran Drescher) and got a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. All the while I continued my acting studies at HB Studios.
